I provide advocacy during medical appointments and with insurance companies and pharmacies, including making phone calls or drafting emails on my client’s behalf. I also provide guidance in navigating the complicated interactions between doctors, insurance agencies, and pharmacies (i.e. who to call when and examples of what to say). I do this with an intimate knowledge of what it’s like to navigate the US healthcare system, especially as someone with chronic medical issues, and with the utmost empathy for the anxiety, frustration, and even anger that this process evokes.
I can also assist clients in researching doctors, dentists, therapists, and other professional services as well as medical equipment.
My current personal and professional experience includes the following conditions: fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, SLE lupus, Sjogren’s Syndrome, endometriosis and other menstrual health issues, EDS/hypermobility spectrum issues, migraines, C-PTSD/PTSD, bipolar disorder, gallbladder disease, and more. I also have experience with trans health care and navigating the healthcare system while fat. In addition, I make an effort to research and become knowledgeable about new conditions as they are presented to me.
